Tea harvesting is a race against the clock. The window between "ready to pick" and "past peak" on a quality tea leaf is measured in days, sometimes hours. Any equipment that slows that process down — or breaks down in the middle of it — costs more than the repair bill.
That's the problem Auston set out to solve with the new brushless cordless tea harvester. And the answer came down to three things: a more powerful motor, a lighter frame, and a blade that stays sharp long enough to finish the job.
800W Brushless Motor: The Core Upgrade
The headline spec is the motor. At 800W with a brushless design, this harvester runs significantly cleaner and longer than brush-motor alternatives in the same class. Brushless motors eliminate the physical contact points that wear down over time — which means less heat, less maintenance, and a longer working life before the machine needs attention.
The result at the blade: 18,000 RPM. That's the rotational speed that determines how cleanly the leaves shear, how quickly the head moves through the canopy, and ultimately how much ground a single operator can cover in a day.
SK-5 Blade: Sharp When It Matters
The cutting head uses SK-5 high-carbon steel, quench-hardened for surface hardness and wear resistance. SK-5 is a blade-grade steel — it's not the same material used in commodity trimmers. The hardening process gives it the edge retention to cut through tender shoots cleanly without tearing, which matters for leaf quality as much as it does for efficiency.
Working width is 30cm, with serrated teeth spaced to capture new growth without pulling stems. The built-in tea baffle — visible in the product image — collects harvested leaves directly, reducing scatter and keeping the catch rate high even on sloped terrain.
Single-Hand Operation at 2.1kg
The full unit — motor, battery, baffle, and blade — weighs 2.1kg. That's light enough for extended single-hand use on hillside tea gardens where both stability and mobility matter. There's no backpack battery to manage, no tether cable to catch on branches. The 21V lithium battery is integrated into the grip housing.
Each unit ships with two batteries and a charger, so operators can swap packs in the field without downtime.
For Wholesale Buyers
The L-03 is CE certified and available for OEM and ODM orders. Factory-brand units ship within 7 days of order confirmation. Minimum order is 2 sets; supply capacity is 1,000 sets per week.
For distributors supplying into tea-producing markets — Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Kenya, India, Japan — this is a field-ready unit at a competitive price point. Contact the Auston sales team at austonmachinery.com for pricing and customization options.
